We want this collection to be easy to explore for people with different access needs. We use the WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines to guide improvements to the website.
What you can use
- Keyboard navigation, a skip-to-content link, and visible focus indicators.
- Labeled book and page controls. The carousel also has buttons, so dragging is optional.
- Book previews that close with Escape and return focus to the button that opened them.
- Accessibility settings at the bottom of the home page: larger reading text, higher contrast, and reduced animation.
- Your device’s reduced-motion preference and your browser’s zoom controls.
- Descriptive text for book covers and sample pages, plus a text list of each book’s 30 designs.
Using a keyboard
Use Tab and Shift + Tab to move between controls, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. When the book carousel or preview is focused, Left and Right arrows change the book or sample page. Escape closes a preview, the accessibility settings, or an open mobile menu.
Coloring downloads
The sampler PDF and PNG files contain visual coloring artwork. Text descriptions identify the designs on this website, but the downloads do not provide an equivalent tactile coloring experience and are not certified as accessible PDFs.
Review and limitations
We check page structure, contrast, responsive layout, and keyboard interactions and make improvements as issues are found. Automated checks and browser tests cannot establish complete compatibility with every assistive technology. This statement is not a claim of independent accessibility certification.
If a preview is difficult to use, the free PDF sampler provides another way to view and print a page from every book. You can also read the book descriptions and design lists in the previews.
